Everyone asks me why I feel this affection for Hungarian culture. A lot of them ask me if I want to be Hungarian or I feel Hungarian. I don’t feel and I don’ want to be Hungarian, because I am very proud of my Uruguayan origin, the culture of my grandparents, I am a Uruguayan guy. But I believe sometimes we confuse the concept of origin and the concept of identity… You can’t change your origin, but identity is something that we create. And I really have a Hungarian identity, because I live with Hungarian culture since my childhood, and it is something very important for me – meet Federico Baltar Yanes, a doctor from Montevideo, one of the leading personalities of the Tünderkert Néptáncegyüttes.
