Mr. Christopher Chai (Chris) is one of the young and talented key members of Knack Cordial Folk Group (Hong Kong) from Malaysia who works in Singapore. He started to learn Hungarian folk dances from Mr. Kenneth Tse (holder of Hungarian National Decoration – Gold Cross of Merit and Group Leader of Knack Cordial Folk Group) in June 2016 at Johor Bahru, Malaysia. Since then, Chris comes to Hong Kong to practise Kenneth’s choreographies on a regular basis.

Up to the present time, Chris has learned many performance dances from Kenneth covering respective regions of Délalföld, Sárköz, Méhkerék, Elek, Kisküküllőment, Kalotaszeg, Mezőség, Sóvidék, Marossárpatak and Örkő etc. Chris indicated that dances from Kalotaszeg and Mezőség are his most favourable ones. The most beautiful and memorable experience for Chris so far was his participation in the grand performance of the “20th Anniversary Performance of Knack Cordial” in Hong Kong on 4 Nov 2017.

Chris had performed with Knack Cordial and as one of the lead dancers in the “Napkelettől Napnyugatig 2018” tour in many places / countries including Hong Kong, Taiwan, Indonesia, China, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia and Romania.  Chris will join and continue to pick up the key role in the next ‘Napkelettől Napnyugatig’ Europe performance tour together with dancers from Hong Kong, Taiwan, Japan and China in 2021/22. He  also acted as one of the assistant instructors of Kenneth to teach Hungarian folk dances in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan and China in the period from 2017 to 2020.
