On October 24, Gedeon ’Gida’ Piller, has been awarded the Hungarian Silver Crest of Merit for his active role in popularizing and teaching Hungarian folk dancing in Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Gida is one of the senior members of the Hungarian folk-dance group ‘Pántlika’. He has been the leader of the folk-dance group for many years and has also established the children’s dance group ‘Sarkantyú’, which has helped the upcoming generations of the Hungarian diaspora in Brazil to immerse themselves in Hungarian culture.
