The Liszt Instute – Hungarian Cultural Center Tokyo will host a folk arts workshop where participants will have the opportunity to make their own horsehair jewelry. The event will take place on March 31 from 16:00-17:30 at the Liszt Institute (3-8-1 Azabu Juban, Minato-ku, Tokyo).
The usage of horsehair is just as old as the domestication of horses. Making jewelry out of horsehair used to be a forgotten craft in the twentieth century until the seventies, when it started emerging again and remained popular to this day.
